Before the floods...
The Hub studio was a rehearsal and recording space for use by Hub members at very reasonable rates. The rehearsal / live room had full backline including drum kit, bass amp, guitar amp and a PA system, a toilet and a kitchen area with tea / coffee making facilities.
The recording / programming facilities were mac – based (OSX) running Cubase SX, Reason, etc. It had up to 10 simultaneous inputs via MOTU 828 mkII, or sessions could be mixed straight to stereo via a 24 channel Soundcraft with Lexicon and Behringer outboard.Monitoring was Dynaudio nearfield.
The studio was manned by highly experienced engineers who offered good quality results, along with production advice and assistance as required. Some of the output from the Hub Studio is still available to listen to as mp3 in the radio player on this site as they were unaffected by the water..
The studio had been employed by a range of local bands including Ska Daddy, The Mad Cows, Lairie Fairies, Bottlebag and Superjuice and saw the compilation of the Hub Various CDs and production work for Coldcut and Ninja Tune.
